Since France introduces coffee to Vietnam in the 19th century, Vietnamese really make our own coffee culture with unique preparation, sense of specialization, and special ingredients.
But what is Vietnamese coffee? If you have learned a little about coffee, you might know there are two varieties: Arabica and Robusta. Vietnam is known to be primarily for Robusta, but Vietnamese farmers also grow Arabica in special and high agricultural plots.
After being baked, both beans look very similar, but the difference is in taste, growing conditions, and prices. Arabica beans function has a sweeter, softer, and more fruits. In fact, Robusta is a stronger, brighter taste, with a nuttier tone and more decadent aftertaste.
Arabica coffee beans are harvested from the mountain peak. Arabica plants grow best at high altitudes, above a thousand meters. Flat nuts and extends with curved S-shaped grooves. It feels smooth and the strong aromatic origin is the characteristic of the nuts. The cool climate in the Da Lat highlands has created the best Arabica coffee beans in Vietnam.
